    Traditional approaches to leadership tend to develop leaders away from the teams they lead and often focus on what sets leaders apart from the people they lead (e.g. personality traits such as ‘charisma’).

    Identity leadership is about the leaders ability to establish themselves as being of, and acting for, the team. Developing a shared sense of “We” and “Us” helps to establish a shared reality. This is a powerful way to build a sense of belonging and drive coordinated action that leads to the accomplishment of shared goals.

  • Bill Bowerman (track coach & Nike co-founder) once said “If you have a body, you’re an athlete” and I believe that if you have a mind, you can apply a performance mindset. Whilst my practice is grounded in sport psychology principles, these tools can be applied in everyday life. Whether it’s addressing negative self-talk, coping with stress, overcoming adversity or challenging limiting beliefs, I can help you build a toolbox of techniques that help you achieve your goals.

  • My approach to leadership develophent, coaching and sport psychology are all underpinned by a breadth of scientific research, fused with 20 + years of practical experience of leading teams and driving transformation .

    The SCORE(S) leadership and team development program is underpinned by Social Identity Theory and takes the leader and their team through a series of exercises designed to create a shared sense of identity. By developing the leader as part of their team they then become ‘the heart of the huddle’.

    My coaching approach leverages both Motivational Interviewing (MI) & Rational Emotional Behaviour Therapy (REBT). Both MI and REBT are evidence-based therapeutic techniques for driving behaviour change.

    MI is a collaborative, goal-oriented style of coaching that pays particular attention to the language of change.

    REBT is an action-oriented approach that challenges limiting beliefs to help you achieve your goals and improve overall wellbeing.

    Better (verb): to increase the good qualities of; make better.

    Better indicates an infinite mindset. A mindset of continuous improvement. A performance mindset.
